Our Club
The Zonta Club of Melton was formed with 18 members at a meeting in November 1996 with the assistance of the SOM Committee of the Zonta Club of Ballarat and chaired by Pat Fraser.
The club was chartered on 24th May 1997 with 24 members and Bianca Heaney as president.
The charter dinner was held at Cara’s Restaurant in Melton in the presence of District 23 Governor Kay Poustie and was attended by Val Sarah International President elect, Margaret Rowland District 23 Lt Governor, Phillipa Challis District 23 PR Chairman, Christine Fitzherbert Area 1 Director and members from Ballarat, Bendigo, Frankston, Hobart, Footscray, Geelong, Melbourne and Kyneton Zonta clubs.
Meetings are held the first Monday of the month except for January. Meetings were originally held at the Melton Valley Golf Club and now at the Melton Country Club.
The number of members has fluctuated between 11 and 24 over the years. Currently there are 20 members.
